For more than forty years I have been doing pencil drawings and small watercolor paintings, of plants, animals and places.  Having no formal training in the sciences, these field studies, for me, have been a primary tool for learning about nature first hand.  The experience I gained from working outdoors influenced my work at all levels, and continues to do so.  Over the years I have illustrated numerous books for other authors, written and illustrated five children’s books, executed art for nature organizations and, occasionally, exhibited my artwork.  I also do talks for all age levels, from elementary on up.  I hope you enjoy the images and accompanying comments as I share some of the work and it’s stages.  From time to time I will change the content of the site, so please check back to see what’s new, or old, whichever the case may be...  GM -
